In Matteo Ricci’s footsteps - 2009-07-16
Report: The conference entitled "The Marches-China: Italian companies in the footsteps of Father Matteo Ricci" marked the opening of the commemorative events for the Jesuit priest from Macerata who lived at the close of the 1500s, a figure of tremendous import both in China and the world who has become a model for the opening to Chinese culture and the building of successful relations with it. The American magazine, Life, considers him one of the 100 most important individuals of the second millennium. Father Ricci taught that the basic thing is to understand that the two cultures are different, and Italian companies looking to build success in China must use this diversity to create new stimuli and change the perspective from which they view China.
Presentation by Paolo Borzatta for the conference "The Marches-China: Italian companies in the footsteps of Father Matteo Ricci" organized by The Marches Region in Macerata (MC), July 2, 2009.
