Federalism, innovation and sustainability are the three topics covered by the fourth Meridiano Sanità Report 2009 presented at the Cernobbio Forum.

As it does every year, the Report focuses attention on different aspects of the world of healthcare. The topics of regional devolution and the advent of fiscal federalism give rise to serious discussions about the real possibility of guaranteeing the principle of universal service ensuring that all citizens have the right to receive the best available care and that there is equality of treatment for all. Confirmation of this geographical disparity is also to be found when looking at access to prevention and innovation in the different regions.

The 2009 Report was presented during the Forum "La salute dei L.E.A. - Federalismo, innovazione, risorse" ("Health of the future - Federalism, health technology assessment, sustainability") held on November 9, 2009 at Villa d'Este in Cernobbio (Como).
