The Wider Mediterranean is home to 17% of the world’s population and generates 12% of global GDP, confirming its growing relevance in international economic, political, and social dynamics. Alongside this, Southern Italy is further strengthening its competitive position, as highlighted by TEHA Group’s Mediterranean Sustainable Development Index.

The challenges that Southern Italy must address within the Euro-Mediterranean framework are not short-term in nature. They require continuity of vision, adaptability, and determination in action. For this reason, alongside data analysis, the interpretation of emerging trends, and the development of policy proposals, it remains essential to maintain a broader ambition: no longer viewing the South merely as a region affected by territorial disparities, but rather as a key player in a new geopolitical, economic, and socio-cultural era for the Mediterranean, contributing to a stronger, more credible, and more cohesive Europe.

Scenario Sud is TEHA Group’s management consulting practice dedicated to Southern Italy and its role within the Wider Mediterranean. It was established as a public-private platform that combines strategic analysis, management consulting, and ecosystem activation to help transform Southern Italy from an “area in need of intervention” into a centre of growth, competitiveness, and European cooperation.
