By 2030, Italy will desalinate 1 million cubic metres of water per day.

According to estimates by TEHA's Value of Water Community, Italy's desalinated water production capacity is set to reach 1 million cubic metres per day by 2030, with an average annual growth rate of +6%, double the volume recorded in 2010. These are the figures presented by TEHA at the First National Symposium on Desalination, organised in Palermo by UNIPA, AIDARA, and the Order of Engineers of Palermo.

Spain strengthens its appeal for foreign investment in the Mediterranean region in 2025, according to a study

Spain shows better performance among Mediterranean economies in terms of competitiveness and attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2025, according to the study “Investing in the Mediterranean”, developed by TEHA Group in collaboration with Amazon. The report shows that, since the recovery from the pandemic, Spain's attractiveness has increased by 5.7 points (on a scale of 1 to 100), while Italy's has grown by 4.6 points. In 2020, Italy had a 2.2-point advantage, but by 2024 that difference had been halved.

The systemic impacts of generative and agentic AI on the European financial system

According to analyses conducted by TEHA Group, the widespread adoption of generative AI in European Union countries has the potential to bring about systemic economic transformation. Two mirror scenarios have been modelled for 2040: on the one hand, an increase of 2,610 billion euros in annual added value, equal to 15.2% of European GDP, with the same number of hours worked; on the other hand, the possibility of freeing up 47.6 billion working hours each year, with the same economic output.

Data Centre Italy: the driving force behind the country's digital future

The data centre market is experiencing rapid expansion due to growing demand for storage and advanced computing, fuelled by artificial intelligence, and high-performance infrastructure. According to the first analysis by the TEHA Group's “Data Centre Italy” Community, by 2028, the volume of data will increase from 149 to over 394 zettabytes. The global market is led by the United States, with over 5,000 data centres, followed by the EU with 2,220 units.

Crisis governance in businesses: how to weather the storm

According to a paper by TEHA Group, the tightening of US customs barriers announced by President Trump on “Liberation Day” could prove costly for the European Union. In particular, the introduction of 20% tariffs on all exports and 25% tariffs on steel, aluminium and vehicles would lead (this is still hypothetical, as a U-turn cannot be ruled out) to an increase in customs costs of €104.4 billion for the EU. Germany and Italy would be the countries most affected, with increases of €34 billion and €14 billion respectively.

Recycling electronic waste is an issue
