Iranian energy and power sectors will undergo major changes in the coming years. The lift-off of sanctions creates huge opportunities for domestic and international operators. If this potential were translated into actual investments, Iran would effectively become a leading world energy actor, given its geostrategic location, resources availability and macroeconomic credentials.
To achieve these goals, Iran will have to develop three interrelated elements of its energy platform: improvements in the oil and gas sector, reduction in the energy intensity of its economic system, and deployment of renewables.
With their consolidated presence in the global value chain, Italian energy and power operators are well positioned to cooperate with Iran to achieve its vision and goals. With a dynamic SMEs environment, Italian energy and power companies are sensitive to mutually beneficial strategies, particularly in specific sectors.
For these reasons, a strong partnership between the two Countries will allow Iranian and Italian operators to grow together and to increase regional and global markets outreach in an otherwise impossible way.
