The “Liguria 2022” project of The European House–Ambrosetti was developed with the goal of providing a pro-active contribution in defining a new vision of regional development, representing what a territory intends becoming in the medium- to long-term.
This is the vision The European House – Ambrosetti, in collaboration with a Scientific Committee – comprised of Massimiliano Magrini (Managing Partner, United Ventures), Andrea Pezzi (CEO & Founder, Gagoo Group), Gianni Riotta (Visiting Professor, Princeton University and Università Luiss Guido Carli) and Barbara Stefanelli (Vice Director, Corriere della Sera) – identified with the intent of capturing the trajectories for growth of a region which can base its strategy for enhancing its attractiveness and competitiveness on promoting and safeguarding the territory and the individual.
The “Liguria 2022” strategic report by The European House – Ambrosetti constitutes the first concrete step in a more broad-based, coordinated effort. In preparing the report, some of the most important stakeholders in the territory from industry, associations, universities and research centers were involved through over 40 interviews and two preparatory meetings of the Ambrosetti Club, the Community of The European House – Ambrosetti comprised of 350 business leaders, in 2016 and 2017.
The Forum (which was held in Palazzo Ducale in Genoa on Tuesday, May 23, 2017) was designed to be the first “Ligurian Cernobbio”, the intent being to bring together all key stakeholders in the region to discuss—with input from national and international speakers—the most pressing issues to be taken on and to build together a future of success for all in this region. It is hoped that this forum will become a regular cornerstone event in the region’s calendar so that Liguria will be able increasingly to communicate its standing to Italy and the world.
