Observatory on Europe – Final Report 2015

The “Observatory on Europe” is a European think tank managed by The European House – Ambrosetti since 2005 with the contribution of an outstanding Scientific Committee. This year’s edition involved an Advisory Board comprising the high expertise ofEsko Aho, Vittorio Grilli, Wolfgang Schüssel and Valerio De Molli and business leaders from ING Bank, Enel and Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane.

During the 2015’s Forum – which took place on July 2 in Brussels – the Advisory Board presented the findings of our research to an international audience and discussed with leading members of national and European institutions.

This year report focuses on the completion of the European Internal Market, on the challenges and opportunities of the European Energy and Capital Markets Union as well as on the potential of digitisation for productivity growth and economic recovery. In particular, the report analysed the policies that should implemented at European level and presented a list of recommendations to improve the EU’s competitiveness and foster the integration process.
