The Connected Banking Report

Digital innovation is a key factor for rethinking the banking business model in a sustainable way and for responding to the competition of new entrants. The benefits deriving from this system innovation have been estimated at 1.4% of GDP, with €6bn in customer savings, €18bn in additional bank revenues and €3bn in lower costs.

Banks’ ICT investments must be reoriented from an efficiency tool to a competitiveness and business driver. The growing digitalization of society, the emergence of new customer needs, and regulatory and competitive pressures impose on today’s banks a radical rethinking of channels, products/services and processes. Open logics can enable banks to create a common language for digitalization processes and to access, with flexibility, new technological capabilities within a digital ecosystem.
