It is fundamental for Italy that industry-related issues be placed at the center of the strategic debate and the nation’s agenda for action, to rediscover industry’s role and profound values while promoting its value chains and the country’s distinctive “know-how”.

The strategic study, “The future of Italian industry: resilience and relaunching following the global health crisis and towards long-term competitiveness”, prepared by The European House – Ambrosetti for Fondazione Fiera Milano, is designed to generate new widespread and rooted awareness of the value of industry and the means of promoting it, starting with the trade fair system.

The study analyzes the role of Italian industry in the nation’s growth and development over the last twenty years and the major questions that are still unanswered. It also assesses the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the prospects for relaunching, and identifies a number of directions in which to move for the development of Italian industry over the next few years and its long-term competitiveness.
