Research, innovation and technology are the main elements on which the ability of the ecosystem of the Life Sciences is played out, making it possible to respond concretely to global emergencies.
The tragedy of the Covid-19 pandemic has confronted us with the importance of investing in research and innovation, in every sector of the economy and, in particular, in the Life Sciences, a sector that is dominated by biotech organizations and companies, and the producers of pharmaceutical products and medical equipment: those same players who, during the recent months of the emergency, have enabled the hospitals to equip themselves with advanced tools, and the physicians and research scientists to test solutions never attempted before, allowing them to treat their patients.
In this process, Italy has the opportunity to demonstrate the extent to which the excellence of the national research program enables it to compete on the international level.
In these past few months, the Italian Life Sciences sector, in particular, has exhibited reactivity, organizational capacity, openness to collaboration and, once again, scientific excellence.
