The Westin Chongqing Liberation Square
December 1-2, 2019
European and Asian leaders cannot stand idly, but have to actively build a prosperous future through dialogue and cooperation, rather than passively endure a future of conflict and isolation.
The Dialogue is the reference event to deepen and establish high-level relations with Asian leaders. This second edition (Chongqing, China; December 1-2, 2019) happens at pivotal moment in time in which the overall world geo-economic barycenter is shifting towards east, while the major economic blocks are suffering increasing disaggregating pressure. The United States isolationist turn on trade is widening both the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans, especially by increasing tensions with China, whose retaliatory measures may contribute generating a ripple effect across the globe.
The Asia-Europe Cooperation Dialogue brought to Chongqing over 300 Asian and European business leaders, multilateral institutions and representatives of country governments and institutions for an intense full day program (December 2nd) which focused on strategic topics for ensuring prosperity in the next decades:
Participation in the Dialogue is strictly C-level and upon invitation only.

The World is going through an historic change that will redefine its geopolitical and geo-economic balance for the next few centuries.
The new silk roads are playing a key role in shortening the distance between Asia and Europe, while creating a space of economic dynamism and interconnectivity in the once isolated Central Asia.
Within Asia, China is leading the way towards a new cycle of opening up which is already affecting current World investment trends, trade patterns, and that will ultimately redesign the economic world governance, as we know it. The growth of China’s geopolitical influence, together with the progressive internationalization of its economy – and the subsequent leveraging on its financial models – will inevitably require a rebalancing of the actual equilibrium.
In a time when the new American isolationist wave is widening the Atlantic Ocean, Europe needs to prepare itself to embrace the change, understand how to sensibly reposition its equilibrium towards East, and build the founding of its new Renaissance.
The European House – Ambrosetti and the Boao Forum For Asia (BFA), the leading platforms connecting businesses and institutions respectively within Europe and Asia, are joining forces to establish a long term common platform for European and Asian elites to strengthen connections, build trust and share a joint vision on future cooperation across Eurasia.
Former Governor of People’s Bank of China and Vice Chairman of the Boao Forum for Asia H.E. Zhou Xiaochuan will lead the Chinese delegation, while selected current and former BFA board member will lead delegations from their respective countries
The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) is a non-governmental and non-profit international organization headquartered in China.
