This study, which goes beyond the short-term measures required for immediate relaunching, offers a long-term perspective. However, Ambrosetti Club believes that for a concrete relaunching of Italy, a strategic vision must be defined from the very beginning, a vision to guide Italy in choosing the priorities on which to concentrate the energy and resources available.
Justice that is efficient and a system that is effective against corruption are the two basic elements in fostering a pro-business environment in a country and to attract investment, young people and talent.
During the 46th “Intelligence on the World, Europe and Italy” Forum, Villa d’Este on September 4, 5 and 6, a study prepared in collaboration with Aviva Italia, Toyota Material Handling Italia and Philip Morris Italia and entitled “Global Attractiveness Index 2020: the barometer of a Country’s attractiveness” has been presented.
To meet the challenge posed by digitalization – and reap all the consequent benefits – it is more important than ever to focus on the role of ultra-broadband, increasing subscriptions by exploiting all the available technologies to guarantee uniform coverage throughout the country and, at the same time, develop network infrastructures whose performance is aligned with the needs of the demand. Like the rest of Europe, today Italy is undergoing major reconstruction and recovery. The changes which in recent months have shaken the foundations of our reference scenario, have further underlined the need to build a resilient economic system, oriented to the transition to more sustainable models. Many European countries still lack a national strategic roadmap for transposing the European directives at national level and there are still some outstanding issues, starting from the need to have clearer operational guidelines for the adoption of circular models and metrics for monitoring the transition towards circular models. The European House – Ambrosetti, together with Microsoft Italia, have undertaken a study, the first of its kind, to identify the advantageous aspects and impacts of Cloud computing on Italy’s private and public sectors.
The transition towards a more sustainable economic and social model is both inevitable and epoch-making for our society and, from this standpoint, the new European framework—from the Green Deal to the Next Generation EU mechanism introduced to take on the COVID-19 crisis—will contribute to a further acceleration. However, for the sustainable transition to be a widespread reality in Italy, all local economies must make a positive contribution and be actively involved in the process. Again in 2019, the Italian agrifood supply chain confirmed itself to be one of the driving sectors of the national economy thanks to the sector’s positive performance, which registered record levels in many of the main economic indicators. Despite this, even Food&Beverage was subject to unprecedented impact following the crisis connected with the Covid-19 health emergency.

The mission of the study titled “Banks of the Future” is to: Understand the impacts of the transition from the current competitive framework in the banking sector towards new models of “Banks of the Future”, with special emphasis on the transformation of banks into “Tech Companies” and the implications for strategies, offerings, organizational models and human capital.
Towards the Cashless Revolution: progress made in Italy and what remains to be done
In 2019, The European House – Ambrosetti has started the fifth year of activity of the Cashless Society Community, a high-level platform aimed at fostering the electronic payments diffusion in Italy.
