The ninth edition of the Forum “Observatory on Europe – Improving European Integration and Competitiveness for Growth” took place in Brussels at the Hotel Amigo on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 9:15 am to 1:30 pm.

The Observatory on Europe is a platform for research and debate on strategies and priorities for European competitiveness and integration, gathering high-level speakers from the European Commission, other EU institutions and agencies and business leaders.

This year’s Forum debate revolved around some focus topics:

  • The Eurozone economic outlook, also in light of the result of the referendum on Brexit
  • The level of competitiveness of EU Member States and trends
  • Challenges and opportunities of Industry 4.0 for the EU economy
  • The role of Energy sector for growth, investments and sustainability in Europe
  • Satellite technologies contribution to European Aeronautics to foster regional growth and European competitiveness.

During the Forum, organized in partnership with Enav, Enel and Whirlpool R&D, studies and analysis carried out by The European House – Ambrosetti on the focus topics were presented and debated.

Among confirmed speakers, Vice-President and European Commissioner for the Euro and Social Dialogue Valdis Dombrovskis.
