The Public-Private Partnership Model and its Merits in Attracting Foreign Direct Investments

In 2018 The European House – Ambrosetti and the Mahanakorn Partners Group (MPG), ASEAN’s leading professional services firm, entered into a partnership to enhance and complement the range of corporate services that each brings to the table in support of multinational enterprises in their Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs).

The Mahanakorn Partners Group (MPG) is a leading professional services firm providing a wide-range of legal, accounting, auditing, tax advisory, and management consulting service offerings. MPG is headquartered in Thailand, with an ASEAN presence and a global footprint. MPG employs accomplished lawyers, accountants, auditors, business consultants and administrative staff, supporting clients globally in seamlessly navigating through the complexities of business, regulatory and legal matters, both domestically and internationally. Throughout its two decades, the firm has received numerous accolades from internationally recognized organizations such as the World Bank Group and Arthur J. Gallagher, for providing legal and financial structuring of trade and project finance transactions and fostering FDIs.

The objective of The European House Ambrosetti-MPG Alliance is for each firm to enhance the other’s economic activities by providing international investors and enterprises with support and advisory services, in particular: research, scenarios and strategic studies; international forums and workshops (such as the “High-Level Dialogue on ASEAN-Italy Economic Relations” initiative); assistance to European and North American companies for their FDIs in Asia Pacific and assistance to Asia Pacific companies with their westbound FDIs. The alliance between the two firms has allowed both to expand horizontally, gaining access to new markets, and vertically, expanding the scope of services both can offer.

Among other activities, The European House – Ambrosetti is supporting MPG for the ASEAN PPP Summit in order to gather top-level business leaders and institutional representatives coming from Europe and ASEAN countries.

The 2019 edition of the ASEAN PPP Summit: The Public-Private Partnership Model and its Merits in Attracting Foreign Direct Investments, now in its second edition, the annual leading forum on infrastructure investment in Southeast Asia that provides a high-level platform for sharing knowledge and fostering business opportunities in the ASEAN Region, will be held in Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, Thailand, on the 4th of April 2019. The event, conceived by Mahanakorn Partners Group (MPG) and supported by foreign Embassies and Chambers of Commerce in Thailand, will be attended by international investors and professionals, with the aim of attracting Foreign Direct Investment and fostering business opportunities in ASEAN.

The ASEAN PPP Summit will feature several informative keynote speeches and panel discussions by dignitaries, including ministers of the Royal Thai Government and other ASEAN member states, as well as global business leaders. The annual Summit, which gathers ASEAN government officials, eminent international investors and C-Level professionals from around the world, provides a high-level platform for sharing knowledge and fostering business opportunities. The annual event, an initiative of MPG supported by the European Association for Business and Commerce (EABC) and the European Union, is organized in cooperation with major European Chambers of Commerce in Thailand, including the Thai- Italian Chamber of Commerce (TICC), the French-Thai and the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce, alongside the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM), and Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT).
