Eurozone growth: solid the level of confidence in the future of the European Union, Brexit surprise, that does not impact on company investment plans
Certainty regarding the growing importance of nationalist forces in Europe
In the first session of the second day of “The Outlook for the Economy and Finance” Workshop, the challenges to Eurozone growth were discussed. The 200 businessmen surveyed displayed confidence regarding the future prospects of the European Union (49%).
Brexit does not seem to be a preoccupation from the standpoint of the propensity for future investment: 62.2% of survey respondents foresee no impact on growth planning. The remaining 29.6% expressed concern about the potential negative consequences.
Regarding the general shift in political orientation in the European Union, those surveyed agreed that the nationalist trend is growing (86.8%). Over 10% of the respondents even believe its impact could exceed 25% in the wake of the European elections.
