Results of the online survey at the 30th “Outlook for the Economy and Finance” Workshop (April 5-6, 2019, Villa d’Este, Cernobbio).
The topic of the banks of the future was discussed at the fourth session of the “Outlook for the Economy and Finance” Workshop. The 200 businessmen expressed themselves on Fintech and on how it might influence not just the financial sector but also banking models.
What emerged was that only 0.8% considered it an annoyance. The majority of those questioned (50.8%) viewed it as a game changer, whereas 25.8% foresaw some changes to the business model.
Coming to the risk factors for the banking models of the entire world in the next 5 years, one third of the businessmen involved (32.5%) feared excessive regulation, 28.3% indicated the relationship between digitalization, disruptors and the arrival on the scene of new FinTechs.
The topic of global recession was finally indicated by 21.7% of those in the sector, whereas 5.8% of businessmen were worried about geopolitics.
