The 200 businessmen attending Cernobbio during the final day of the Forum organized by The European House – Ambrosetti, expressed their level of confidence in the current situation and future prospects for Italy.

Over all, 39.1% said their confidence was low or very low, while those expressing a high or very high level of confidence were 15.2%. Those whose level of confidence for the current and future situation was satisfactory were 25.7%.

What was the verdict on the experience of the 5-Star/Northern League government? Six businessmen out of 10 (59.1%) judged it very negatively, while those who judged it acceptable—that is, average on a scale of 1 to 9 in the online survey—were 4.3% overall.

In terms of the expectations of the newly-formed 5-Star/Democratic Party government, sentiment is spread across a range of levels, although the relative majority of those present (18.6%) expressed a view midway along a scale of 1 (very low expectations) to 9 (very high).
