“The Road Map of the Future for Food & Beverage” which marks the conclusion of the 2018 activities of the Ambrosetti Club Food&Beverage Community, a platform for reflecting on issues related to this sector with the goal of promoting an opportunity for discussion, meeting and exchange of experiences among business leaders, experts and government and institutions.
The food industry is a key economic supply chain for Italy. The turnover of the food & beverage industry is over €130 billion and it employs more than 465,000 people in 56,000 businesses to generate the highest level of value added in all Italian manufacturing sectors, equal to 72% of the other Big 3 (furnishings, apparel and automotive).
Discussion during the forum will include: scenarios and challenges for this sector; the attractiveness of food & beverage companies and the obstacles to its development; relationship between industry and distribution; and the role of technology which has a significant impact on distribution approaches with the opening of new channels and the allocation to new and different players of the functions traditionally performed by players within the sector.
