The fifth edition took place in Milan on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 May,
in Talent Garden Calabiana.

Technology Forum 2016: Meet, Interact, Learn

A 360-degree experience for innovators

This is the culmination of the activity of Ambrosetti Club’s InnoTech Community, with a clear focus: to relaunch economic growth in Italy and to promote innovation as a strategic driver for development.

Meet, interact, learn’ is the title of the 2016 edition, a two-day event for sharing views and ideas on key innovation issues:

  • DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION, with Naveen Jain, the entrepreneur who plans to organise commercial travel to the moon.
  • URBAN ECOSYSTEMS, with the London, Berlin and Paris models – and the Italian experience.
  • WHAT INSPIRES ME TO CHANGE THE WORLD: TALES OF CHALLENGES AND INNOVATION, with the President of the Global Entrepreneurship Network, Jonathan Ortmans, and the rising star of nanobiotechnologies Nanxi Liu.
  • INNOVATION HUBS AND NATIONAL PERSPECTIVES: comparing the innovation ecosystems of the EU, Estonia, USA and Italy.
  • OUR TOMORROW: NEW FRONTIERS IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY: a focus on what lies in store for us, with the opening speech by Carlo Ratti of MIT’s Seanseable City Lab, and a look into Robotics and Smart Materials, as well as strategies to guarantee disruptive innovation every time.
  • HUMAN TECHNOPOLE: more specific and closer to home, a focus on the leading innovation ecosystem project in Italy.

Given the strong impact of scientific and technological progress on the economy of Italy and its ability to stay competitive, the Forum offers an invaluable opportunity to meet the most influential innovators from all over the world, interact with policymakers and learn from internationally successful cases.

The Technology Forum has a strongly interactive nature, with plenty of scope for debate and engagement among peers, even outside the working programme. Time was set aside for networking, and the Saturday traditionally began with small breakfast meetings, where participants had the chance to establish and consolidate relations with the individual speakers over a coffee.
