On December 4th, Unipol Gruppo and The European House – Ambrosetti organized December 4th in Rome the Welfare Italia Forum 2019, an on-going platform for discussion and sharing of ideas in defining a vision of welfare that goes in the direction of inclusive and sustainable social and economic development in Italy.
In 2019, thanks to the support of The European House – Ambrosetti Working Group, the “Welfare, Italia” project of the Unipol Gruppo evolved into a think tank. Its mission is to provide a tangible contribution to defining a vision of the social security system that supports the social and economic development of Italy within a perspective that is inclusive and sustainable. The “Welfare, Italia” Think Tank is also designed to be a permanent platform for discussion, sharing of ideas and assessing good practices from the public, private and non-profit sectors.
Support for the initiative is provided by a Scientific Committee, comprised of Veronica De Romanis (Professor of European Political Economy, Stanford University – Florence and LUISS – Rome); Giuseppe Guzzetti (Lawyer and philantropist; former President, Fondazione Cariplo); Walter Ricciardi (Head of “Mission Board for Cancer”, European Commission; Coordinator of the Scientific Committee, Human Technopole; former President, Italian National Institute of Health); Stefano Scarpetta (Director of the Department of Employment, Labour and Social Affairs, OECD).
The Forum took place on December 4, 2019 from 08:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Palazzo Venezia offices in Rome (entrance: Piazza di San Marco, 49).
The event was preceded by a gala dinner on December 3rd, at the same location, with the working session beginning at 6 pm.
During the Forum, the “Welfare, Italia” Think Tank Strategic Report has been presented to all the country’s key decision-makers to activate—with the contribution of national and international speakers—a constructive exchange involving the most important issues, and to transmit policy guidelines and proposals to optimize and make full use of all aspects of the national welfare system.
