Inclusion and development, the sports sector faces infrastructure shortages

Bolzano and Trento at the first place for people's state of health

The autonomous Italian Provinces of Bolzano and Trento are in the lead with the highest values for the "state of health of the population", ahead of Tuscany, Veneto and Lombardy, while the Southern regions have lower values than the national average. The exception is Abruzzo, which saw a clear improvement, climbing 5 positions, compared to 2022. Water, the low tariff limits investments in Italy

Denmark and Germany have the highest water prices in Europe and with this revenue they finance large investments in the sector. In Italy, every cubic meter of water is paid 2.1 euros against the 3.2 EU average, the 9.9 euros of Denmark and the 6.3 euros of Germany. According to the analysis presented during the 5th edition of TEHA's "Value of Water for Italy" Community, which represents 36 partners among the main companies and organisations of the extended water supply chain, Italy’s low water tariff limits the investments needed to improve the integrated water service.

The case of the Silicon Valley Bank and Credit Suisse are considered «isolated cases» by 47.9% of participants, but 35.4% think that they are «precursors of a systemic crisis of financial institutions». At the last place we find worries about climate change, expressed by 2.3% of them only.

Electronic payments, Italy is third to last in the EU. Florence is the first cashless city

Updated data on electronic payments in Italy was presented at the Round Table of the Cashless Society Community, organised by The European House - Ambrosetti. The study shows that Italy's transition to cashless is proceding smoothly, but the performance is still unsatisfactory when compared to the European average. Italy is third to last, and loses a position since 2021, with better results than Romania and Bulgaria only. Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands are the best performers.

In Veneto, 3 out of 4 business leaders are not thinking about generational change

As Italian business leaders grow older, three out of four companies have not yet addressed the issue of generational change nor do not plan to do so. In Veneto, 74% of companies with a turnover of more than 20 million euros are family owned, and family businesses with a leader who is under 50 years old are only 11% of the grand total. Although the generational transition is a priority, three out of four companies still do not think about passing the baton to the younger generations.

Italy and gender gap: one woman out of two has a part time job

However, there are some sectors where there is a greater female employment, such as healthcare, tourism, retail, social services. Water emergency: the waste continues even with droughts and inflation

Consumers' habits have not been affected by the rising prices and the consequences of climate change. Half of Lombardy's inhabitants still do not drink tap water for a matter of taste, while 31% of them think that tap water is not safe to drink.

E-commerce, a 71 billion euros growth
